Dr. Kedir is an agri-environmental scientist, currently a postdoctoral fellow and project manager (2020 to present) at Memorial University of Newfoundland under Prof. Adrian Unc. His doctoral research investigated phosphorus dynamics in podzolic soil converted from boreal forest to agriculture, studying phosphorus adsorption and availability and suitable agri-environmental P tests for northern boreal agriculture.

His work integrates soil science, plant science, and waste management to improve soil health and nutrient uptake in podzolic soils. He has investigated the reuse and integration of community, agriculture, and fishery organic wastes as a means of sustainable waste reduction and lower GHG emissions, and currently manages the ongoing integrated soil health project for crop production in the northern boreal region.
